Local Newport artist & printmaker Allison Mackenzie is holding ongoing art workshops starting from Wednesday July 31 10:30-12:30 at Gallery 57 in Newport. Introducing a variety of simple printmaking techniques, collage and other arts & crafts, these Wednesday morning "Enjoy Creating Art & Chatting" classes are perfect for beginners and will help to build your creative confidence and artistic skills.

Japanese Culture Classes at Gallery 57

These classes & workshops at Gallery 57 aim to take an informal and entertaining look at traditional and contemporary aspects of Japanese culture.

This programme is presented by Japanese-inspired artist Allison Mackenzie who has studied various aspects of Japanese culture and language throughout the years, as well as spending 13 years living and working in Japan, teaching English and exhibiting as an artist and printmaker.

Examples of her Japanese collection, her passion and experience of daily life in Japan is what she will bring to the table in these classes.

Newport Makerspace • Creudy Casnewydd

• Newport Makerspace is a community workshop located on the first floor of the Wastesavers Reuse Centre in Maindee, Newport, South East Wales. This exciting makerspace comprises three workshops - Metalwork, Woodwork and Craft & Technology. With an extensive range of equipment, these facilities enable members to work and learn together in designing, creating, repairing or upcycling.
